Stevie Manning is a poet from Toronto. Her poems have been featured in Angel Scum Press and @mtf_butches. Her poems were solicited by the Canadian Medical Association, but rejected after closer examination. Her chapbook Joan Would Say was released by KFB in 2023. Shampoo Boy is her first collection.

"All poems are stains or all stains are poems or so it seems to me after drinking down Shampoo Boy, Stevie Manning’s brilliant inebriant of a book. Stevie’s the poet laureate of the pleasures and perils of spilling, of spitting out, of sucking down — these pages are stained with early drinks and late dinners, with dates, dreams and disappointments, with sick bodies sick of being sick — this is a book of exorbitance, it’s the gorgeous in engorgement— oh Stevie Manning we love you please throw up."

— DEREK McCORMACK

"Stevie Manning’s syntax is like shattered glass, glittering and sharp as hell. Caustically funny, too. The hard realities of simply trying to be alive in the world come out of her like a fountain of sparks, or blood. I love this book. Somehow even her most backwards pop culture glances are a sly kick into the future."

— SCOTT TRELEAVEN

"Just when I thought queerness was waning the heavens part and Jesus Fucking Christ STEVIE MANNING is the second coming! Glory be! The rapture we’ve been promised. 2nd Puberty Boys Boys Boys Sephoric bliss! Holy Cow! Heaven Forbid! Joan Would Say: At Long Last Love! This is the queer kingdom, and SHAMPOO BOY holds the fucking key “The best part: You never have to come” a 2L bottle of coke exploding QUEER RADIANCE IN ABUNDANCE IN A RAF SIMONS DRESS a club sandwich you cream over your hot pink silhouette served with a pedal to the metal and a heart that bleeds glitter “Remind yourself You have only your body for a voice There is no greater speaking” SHAMPOO BOY there is no greater"
