STARTING FIRES is an introduction to card magic as imagined by THE NEAT REVIEW. This series offers a playground of material to begin your journey into modern card magic. Booklet 1, "REAL", teaches an entirely out-of-your-hands, two deck "Do as I Do" routine.

"A Studied Display of Real or Pretended Feeling (For Two)"

Two packs are used. The magician never touches the cards, but invites two friends to take a pack each. Each of your friends shuffle their packs and spread through the deck, picks a card, remembers it, then buries it into the middle of the pack. Your friends then shuffle their packs independently, then shuffle their packs TOGETHER, creating a wash of colour in front of one another. They then, amidst the chaos, effortlessly find one another's cards.
