A book of poems with the incredible writers at Core Arts, Hackney
Core Arts is a London-based mental health charity that enriches the lives of 1900+ adults per year that are suffering severe mental health needs, by reducing social isolation and stigma through creative learning.
With no analytical or clinical agenda, the expansive programme and member led ethos provides quality education, training, employment and social opportunities that enable people who experience mental health issues to overcome barriers, fulfil their potential and participate fully in their community.
"In November 2024 , I was privileged to co-host a poetry writing workshop for members in the amazing polytunnel and garden at Core Arts. Alongside Caitlin Boston Ingham who runs the incredible poetry program, we read poems by June Jordan and gave prompts for the poets to engage with the nature that surrounds them at the Homerton site where Core Arts is situated. The most wonderful collection of nature poems was the result, and with beautiful photos by Zaineb Abelque, this book was born. To all the poets who contributed to this book, I am in awe of your creativity and bravery.”
Clem MacLeod, founder of Seed Readers 2025
All proceeds of purchasing the book will go to Core Arts mental health charity to support the poetry and creative writing program.
