Within this issue, there is plenty to be explored as we take you on a journey through time in more ways than one.
Delve deep into the Klättermusen archive as we are given exclusive access to their 50-year history. From 1975 to the present day, carefully selecting a curated handful of images from across those five decades to be pulled from this very magazine and used as posters or however you see fit. Accompanying this is one of the most detailed and honest interviews with Klättermusen’s lead designer, Isabell Lianhaugen, and CEO, Gonz Ferrero.
Explore the ancient history of Welsh mythology as you are presented with a few handpicked stories some well known, others known a little more locally. Through visual and written poetry, and the incredible styling of Tia Clarke, we take each protagonist and present them to you through our very own lens, with poems written in both Welsh and English for their stories to be told.
Luke and Nik take you down to Cornwall for a spot of trail running, making the coastline and its infamous coastal paths their playground. Moving Forward a journey where the line between a runner’s mind and the wild Cornish coast begins to blur. Each step finds its rhythm in the cliffs and winds, turning running into reflection where the landscape itself becomes therapy, and endurance becomes understanding.
Daud Tutkeij introduces us to Atlas Wear as he and Lemmie van den Berg present a story captured through their eyes, one that shows the garments in their truest form. ATLAS_WEAR, developed with Cansu Kaniskan, is created in her ethical, all-women atelier in Istanbul, where garments are hand-cut and sewn with meticulous precision. The first design seeks a truly universal form, situated somewhere between a jellaba, a work suit and the fluid ease of a tracksuit, modest in silhouette, functional in intention, and shaped for real movement.
Lastly, we sit and chat with Farouk Alao about his process, inspiration, and the collective movement, 858, that he has been curating to inspire others to embrace their art and their truth, no matter what that may be.
