PERF Books No. 2, Car Wash by Paolo Zerbini, explores car washes in the Dominican Republic as social environments in their own right. Places where waiting for a car to be washed can easily turn into an evening of beer, food, music, and dancing, giving rise to spontaneous and vibrant spaces in which the boundaries between car wash, bar, restaurant, and dance hall virtually disappear.

PERF Studios / PERF Publishing is a young post-production studio launching PERF Books, a new series of photographic monographs in zine format, with artistic direction by Francesco Valtolina. The series was created to accommodate projects that call for a printed form, while retaining a sense of lightness and a freedom of expression that remain distinct from the more traditional format of a book.
