Kristian Hoffman (b. 1951) is a queer songwriter, musician and visual artist born in Santa Barbara, CA. He was best friends with Lance Loud and appeared with Loud in the PBS series American Family. Hoffman and Loud formed the band Mumps right out of high school and moved to New York city. Mumps became a fixture of the downtown New York music and art scene performing at CBGB’s and Max’s Kansas City. Hoffman wrote and arranged music for Kluas Nomi, including the Nomi song. His other bands include Bleeker Street Incident, Congo Norvell, and The Swinging Madisons. He has performed and collaborated with Kid Congo Powers, Ann Magnuson, Dave Daves, Lydia Lunch, El Vez and Rufus Wainwright. His current music project is The Roswell Sisters.
